Mother’s Day Tea | Benton Harbor Chapter

The Benton Harbor Chapter of Charms never fails to please with our annual pre- Mother’s Day Tea. It is the ticket every woman in Benton Harbor and surround- ing communities cov- ets. Our annual Leg- ends Tea puts a spotlight on women in Benton Harbor who have served the community in every aspect of their lives from faith to fam- ily to their profession and beyond. This year’s honorees were: Nora Jefferson and Lisa Peeples-Hurst.

It is also a time to strut in our finest millinery and it truly gets better every year. Four of our past legends; Leston Alston, Sinie Bass, Judge Mabel Mayfield, and Mamie

Yarbrough, modeled some of their most outstanding hats from their own collections to the delight of all in attendance. Our tea also serves as a fund raising avenue for the many projects our chapter is involved in, including our local project.
