Champagne Luncheon and Fashion Show | Gahanna Chapter

During a champagne luncheon and fashion show, over 200 guests packed The Capital Club in down- town Columbus on April 6 at Noon to welcome the city’s new- est ladies’ social club, The Gahanna Chapter of Charms, Inc. The theme of the affair was ―Simply Elegant.

Mistress of Ceremonies and Chapter Historian, Marcia Turner Conley, gave a rousing welcome to enthusiastic guests from 4 cities in Ohio as well as chapter mem- bers from Texas, Alabama, Michi- gan, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

Gahanna Charter President, Dr. Rhonda Williams Evans, organ- ized the group ―with the goal of giving a social outlet for those of us who work hard in our profes- sions as well as in our communities, she explained.

The celebration began earlier in the day with a ceremony in which 17 professional women were installed into the national organiza- tion, Charms, Inc. by National President M. Elizabeth Chatman from the Benton Harbor, Michi- gan Chapter, National Organizer Dr. Patricia S. Johnson from the Detroit Chapter and a host of other national officers and members.

Guests at the Charms, Inc. event were treated to live entertainment from the Luxury Brown Jazz Trio, a high-end fashion show with 9 models and 2 commentators from the membership of the Gahanna Chapter and dignitaries from Franklin County, the City of Columbus, private industry in Greater Columbus and a host of sororities and not-for-profit or- ganizations.
